Culture Central and United By 2022 are teaming up to celebrate Black History Month with the Inclusive Network, UB22 Family and our venue partners X+Why who are kindly providing a space and refreshments for this gathering.

Join us as we celebrate Black History Month 2024 with an afternoon of wellness, networking, and an exciting fireside panel chat focused on this year’s theme, Reclaiming Narratives. We will explore what this theme means through the lens of organisations and communities working in the arts and culture sector. Join our panellists as they share their experiences of how this has shaped their lives and will continue to shape the future.

Shaun Tulloch aka Screama (Lead Panellist)

Birmingham-based Music Producer and Founder of Neuro Sound Therapy

Shaun Tulloch, also known as Screama, is an award-winning music producer and life coach from Birmingham, UK. With over a decade of experience in the music industry, Shaun has now expanded his expertise into the field of Neuro Sound Therapy.

Combining his passion for sound with a deep understanding of trauma, Shaun uses Neuro Sound Therapy to promote healing through music. His innovative approach integrates sound frequencies to stimulate the brain, helping individuals process emotions, reduce stress, and enhance overall well-being. Shaun's mission is to make therapeutic sound accessible to all, particularly those who have experienced trauma.

Madeleine Kludje

Deputy Artistic Director at The Birmingham Repertory Theatre

Madeleine Kludje is the Deputy Artistic Director at The Birmingham Repertory Theatre, where she leads on Door and Studio programming and Talent Development. An alumna of the Regional Theatre Young Directors Scheme and National Theatre Directors Course 23 and Clore Leadership Pulse. Madeleine is passionate about fostering diversity in the theatre industry and creating pathways for a more inclusive sector. She is also a member of the West Midlands Artist Development Network and the Black Creatives Network.

Madeleine's recent directing work includes the Black British Theatre Award-nominated Swim, Aunty, Swim! (Belgrade), Sky Comedy Rep, Grimeboy, Park Bench Plays (The Rep), City of a Thousand Trades (Birmingham Royal Ballet & the Rep).

Namywa Music

Artist, Singer, Songwriter and Founder of Girl Grind UK

Namywa is a music industry artist, songwriter, and the visionary founder of GIRL GRIND UK CIC. With a BA Honours in Applied Performance from The Birmingham School of Acting and nearly a decade of experience, she has worked with diverse communities, including young people, women, LGBTQ+ groups, and individuals with disabilities. Passionate about amplifying marginalized voices, Namywa is dedicated to empowering creative entrepreneurs.

Recognized for her work, she was a finalist in the 2020 Future Faces Awards and has received support from Help Musicians, MOBO Awards, and PRS Foundation, among others.

Lerato Tsiga

Birmingham Based Dancer and Choreographer

Born in Zimbabwe moved to the UK aged 4, Lerato Tsiga an ex professional dancer with experience in the industry uses her life experiences and passion for Equality, Diversity and Inclusion to make a difference and support organisations in communities across the West Midlands into her current role as Outreach Coordinator at United by 2022.

Andrew Prince Boateng

Actor, Writer, Director

Andrew Boateng is the writer of 2024 Film Tribal Mark directed by Skepta and Hector Dockrill. He was honored with the Warner Media Scholarship for an MA in TV Fiction Writing at Glasgow Caledonian University, and also holds an MA in Creative Writing from London Metropolitan University. His writing has been recognized at the Edinburgh TV Festival's New Voice Awards, where he won the Best Test Card Pilot, and he was also shortlisted for the 2020 Red Planet Prize. Andrew's works, while rich in depth and cultural nuance, underscore his dedication to authentic storytelling.

Andrew is currently a Development Producer at 1Plus1 Productions.

 

About the Inclusive Network

Our Inclusive Network unites trailblazers, leaders, and creative activists to support, empower, and provide opportunities for traditionally excluded groups within the creative workforce. Through a mix of structured, semi-structured and informal activities, we aim to create a safe and nurturing environment for a diverse community of creatives.  Culture Central will deliver an activity programme consisting of 12 co-created sessions focused on networking, care and wellbeing, safety and sector change. 

It's a catalyst for change and sector transformation, made up of new and seasoned professionals and a launchpad for the next generation of cultural leaders. If you’re interested in being a part of the Inclusive Network, please complete the registration form.
