Culture Central and More than a Moment Reveal Full Programme for Radical Listening Week 2023
Culture Central and More than a Moment have been working together to curate a week of radical listening sessions platforming the voices of marginalised creatives and culture sector professionals.
Radical Listening Week running 11th – 15th September, will host a fresh session each lunchtime (12-1pm) with representatives from the: South Asian, LQBTQIA+, D/deaf, disabled and neurodivergent, working class and Black creative workforces’, who will discuss their lived experience of navigating the culture sector and the key factors that are barriers to that group's success.
The term “radical listening” refers to the discipline of focusing intently on what another is saying, while suspending your judgement and biases to reach a place of understanding. Ultimately this event aims to foster deeper connections, build empathy, and promote social change.

After the initial Radical Listening Week, Culture Central will be holding a Critical Dialogue session at the More than a Moment Summit in which cultural sector professionals will come together to unpack learning from the initial consultation and determine how to implement the change moving forward.
The event is funded by Arts Council England and Birmingham 2022 Festival Legacy.
